WEIGHT LOSE; IS FASTING THE WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT?
Is fasting the right way to lose weight? This is the question that most of my clients ask me. My standard answer for them is; yes, if done the right way. Yes, you heard me right you can lose weight by fasting. Weight loses and fasting can go hand in hand.
Note that I didn’t say ‘starving’ as starving can cause you all sorts of sicknesses like stomach ulcer, etc.
Fasting as a way of losing weight is effective for the following reasons:
You fast with joy: provided you are fasting with your mind and all your heart, you will not have any form of rancor and bitterness in you. The presence of bitterness in your fasting makes it become starvation and quickly saps the benefits of fasting as a way of losing weight. You need to make up your mind before fasting. Be sure not to do it under any form of duress, yes, we need motivation in order to implement our weight lose programs but care needs to be taken so that we don’t end up forcing ourselves against our wish.
You break your fast with fruits: it is conventional to break fast with fruits. You will suffer some disorder in the stomach if you don’t break your fast with fruits. This tradition will naturally force you to eat fruits if you are not the type that eats fruits ordinarily. Eating fruits will help discharge some toxics in your body giving you a relatively sick free life. And you know what this means; you will save money and be happy. Obesity and over weight will not be your portion if you constantly fast. In order words, eating of fruits helps prevent obesity.
Fasting helps burn excess fat: in as much as it is not the only feasible way to lose fat, not eating too much is the surest way to lose fat without much worry about side effects. Care should be taken not to over eat when you eventually want to break your fast.
